Where psychology, creativity, and technology meet

Creative & Mind began at the meeting point between two very different minds.

I am Herica Utida, a psychologist who loves to understand people, emotions, behavior, and the small details that shape everyday life.

My husband, Hiroshi Utida, is a software engineer who looks at an idea and immediately starts to think about systems, materials, design, and how to make it work.

I usually begin with the question: What could help this person?

Hiroshi usually follows with: Can we build it?

Most of the time, the answer is yes. Sometimes the printer has a different opinion.

That combination became Creative & Mind. Psychology helps us understand the purpose behind each resource. Technology helps us transform an idea into something people can touch, use, explore, and enjoy.

The brand grew from our professional backgrounds, family life, creativity, faith, and many conversations around the kitchen table. We wanted sensory resources that felt useful and thoughtful, without looking cold, clinical, or complicated.

Some products are designed and made in our Massachusetts studio. Others are carefully selected because they fit the purpose and values of Creative & Mind.

Our resources are created for children and adults. Sensory preferences do not belong to one age group. What changes is the purpose, the environment, and how each person chooses to use the resource.

Creative & Mind is where human understanding meets technology, with a little creativity, a lot of testing, and occasional negotiations with a 3D printer.
